QPU Challenges in TII's Quantum Research

TII's quantum research journey has been complex. High-performance QPUs are critical for building quantum computers and developing quantum algorithms.

Superconducting QPUs, known for executing complex computational tasks efficiently, are indispensable for advancing quantum research. However, stringent requirements for QPU performance and the need for in-house precision manufacturing capabilities have posed significant challenges for TII.

Initially, TII faced hurdles in sourcing superconducting QPUs. The limited availability of standardized superconducting QPUs on the market and high prices significantly increased research costs.

Additionally, with the increasing demand for QPUs with higher qubit counts, TII found that acquiring small-qubit QPUs for short-term research would not have been more cost-effective or scalable. Through its collaboration with SpinQ, TII gained access to a customized superconducting QPU solution tailored to its quantum research needs, effectively overcoming these challenges with SpinQ's high-performance Superconducting QPUs.
